At Wednesday’s meeting, District 742’s School Board unanimously agreed to accept a donation of three parcels of land adjacent to Westwood Elementary School. The three parcels, with an appraised value of $975,000, were donated by JAZZZZ Holdings. In a letter to the board, Jeff Tyson explains the donation.

Willmar Planning Commission approves conditional use permit for

Block 25 Lofts downtown

The Willmar Planning Commission has approved the conditional use permit for the first project in the Willmar Renaissance Zone — Block 25 Lofts. The building will bring 57 apartment units to the downtown area.

WILLMAR—The “for sale” signs on Block 25 in Willmar officially say sold and Lumber One Development Company of Avon hopes to begin construction this fall on the 57-unit, four-story apartment complex in downtown Willmar.

At the special Willmar Planning Commission on June 30, the commission unanimously approved the conditional use permit for the project.

“The project has proven financially feasible,” said David Ramstad, Willmar Planning and Development director. “They are ready to go and eager to get started.”

Block 25 Lofts will be located at the address of 227 Hwy 12 Bypass SW, Willmar, MN 56201.
